Our Pricing

White-painted two-story colonial residential home with red entry door, white columns, black trim, and blue clear sky
Full Exterior Painting

$4 per sq ft, typically $5,000 to $10,000 for a full home exterior

For most Triangle homes, our exterior service covers siding, trim, doors, and shutters, prepped and painted as one process. Multi-story homes, difficult ladder access, and the material your home is covered in (wood, stucco, aluminum, brick) all affect the total. Older homes needing lead-safe practices cost more, since proper containment and cleanup take real time.

Key Factors Affecting Cost
  • Siding Type (Vinyl, Wood, Brick, Stucco)

  • Accessibility and Home Height

WHY WE PUBLISH OUR PRICING

We’d Rather Tell You Than Have You Guess

Most homeowners look up pricing online before contacting a contractor. If you can’t find a real range on our site, you’ll find one on a competitor’s, and you’ll start that call already wondering what we’re not telling you. We’d rather be the most honest voice in the room. Even when the answer is “it depends,” we’ll tell you what it depends on.

A wall or surface in poor condition can add 20% to 25% to your base cost in prep work alone. That means patching, sanding, and priming before any paint goes on. We explain this upfront, during your estimate, not on invoice day. The contractor who tells you about extra prep costs before the crew shows up is the one you’ll actually refer your neighbor to.

Our on-site estimates take about an hour. You’ll get a written, itemized quote. No vague line items, no added fees once the crew arrives. If the price changes after you’ve approved the scope, that’s on us to explain, not something you find out when the invoice lands.

The exact extent of carpentry repair, how many coats it takes to fully cover a dramatic color change, and the added containment work lead-safe practices require on pre-1978 homes all affect your final number. The calculator gives you a range, and the in-person walkthrough gives you the exact price.

No Two Projects Cost the Same. Here’s Why.

Every project is different, and prices shift based on a handful of real factors. The numbers in this calculator are a solid starting point. Most final quotes land within 10% to 25% of what you see here. Here’s what we actually look at before giving you a final price.

Walls or siding with cracks, water stains, or peeling paint need patching, priming, or extra prep before painting can start. The more repair work a surface needs, the higher the prep cost. Clean, sound surfaces are faster and less expensive to paint.

Wood, stucco, aluminum, brick, and laminate siding all take paint differently, and each adds its own cost. Porous or textured materials need more product and sometimes more coats, which affects both material and labor cost. Cedar siding and homes with existing lead-based paint add the most, since both need extra care to prep correctly.

Covering a dark color with a light one, or vice versa, usually takes an extra coat to fully hide what’s underneath. The number of coats a project needs is one of the biggest swings in the final price, and it’s something we can only judge accurately in person.

Multi-story homes, steep rooflines, vaulted ceilings, and hard-to-reach areas take more time and equipment to paint safely. A 3-story home or a home requiring tricky ladder work typically adds to the total exterior cost.

The number of doors, baseboards, and crown molding details all add labor time, and they’re priced separately from wall coverage for exactly that reason. Occupied homes also take longer than vacant ones, since furniture and floors need to be covered and protected as we work.

Standard and higher-grade paints have real cost differences. We use Sherwin-Williams products on every job and can walk you through which line fits your budget and holds up in Triangle weather, including humidity, sun, and pollen season.

Pricing Questions The Triangle Homeowners Ask Us Most

Most rooms run $300 to $600, depending on room size. A small room with smooth walls sits at the lower end. A larger room, or one needing drywall repair or extra coats, sits higher. Ceilings, trim, and doors are priced as add-ons based on what your project includes.

Most full exterior projects fall between $5,000 and $10,000, depending on home size, siding type, and how much prep work the surfaces need. On a per-square-foot basis, expect around $4 per sq ft. Our minimum project size for exterior work is $2,000.

No. The calculator gives you a realistic range based on typical jobs. Your actual price comes after a free walkthrough, where we look at your surfaces, scope, and prep needs in person. Most final quotes land within 10% to 25% of the calculator estimate.

Prep work is the biggest driver. Surfaces that need patching, sanding, priming, or carpentry repair take more time and material. Room or home size, the number of coats, whether you’re changing colors, and how many doors or trim details are involved also factor in.

Yes. We cover and protect your floors and furniture as part of every project, and we move light furniture within a room as needed. For larger or fragile items, we ask that you clear those ahead of time so nothing gets damaged. Everything else, we handle.

Most interior projects take 4 to 5 days, and most exterior projects take 4 to 6 days, depending on your home’s size and how much prep work is needed. Your free estimate appointment itself takes about an hour, and you can typically use the space again the next day after we finish.
