Built on a Simple Idea: Show Up and Do the Work Right

Proudly Serving Raleigh, Cary, Apex, and the Greater Triangle Area

Our Founder

Meet Ryan Critoria

Owner, Ryan Critoria, has been in the painting business since he was a teenager. His dad taught him the trade so he could work his way through high school. Ryan split each paycheck in half: one half went toward college tuition, and the other toward his savings.

Ryan graduated from UNC Wilmington in 2006 with two separate degrees, one in Business Administration and the other in Marketing. After graduation, he faced a challenge many new graduates know well. The job market was tough, and the business and marketing positions he was qualified for weren’t exactly lining up.

Ryan turned to his dad for advice, the same person who had taught him how to mix paint, cut a clean line, and take pride in doing the job right. After talking with his father, Ryan decided to combine what he’d learned in college and his painting skills to build his own painting company.

Matrix Painting Inc. opened its doors in October 2007. Nearly two decades later, the company has completed more than 1,000 projects across the Greater Triangle Area. Ryan still leads the business with the same principles his dad taught him from the beginning: show up, do the work right, and treat every customer with respect.

Our Mission

Matrix Painting Inc. exists to give Triangle homeowners and business owners a painting experience they don’t have to worry about. That means clear pricing before we start, a crew that shows up when they say they will, and work backed by a written warranty. We’re not trying to be the biggest painting company in North Carolina. We’re trying to be the one you’d actually recommend to your neighbor without hesitating.

Our Core Values

Honesty

We tell you what a project actually needs, even if that means telling you less work is required than you expected.

Communication

You’ll always know what’s happening with your project, from your first estimate through the final walkthrough.

Respect

Your home or business gets treated the way we’d want ours treated: covered floors, protected furniture, and a clean job site.

Quality

We don’t cut corners on prep to finish faster, because a rushed paint job costs more to fix than it costs to do right the first time.
